5 Ways to Make Meditation a Daily Habit with Abide

Do you ever feel like you’re carrying the weight of the world on your shoulders?

I don’t know about you, but I’ve felt like my jaw has been clenched and my shoulders have been permanently shrugged for months. Studies are showing that mental health is at an all-time low with all the trauma that we experienced in 2020. Has anyone else been struggling?

Finding peace in the midst of chaos is hard, but not impossible. You just have to find the right tools!

Here are 5 ways to make meditation a daily habit in your life!

1 - Choose the time of day that works best for you.

I like to get up early and meditate in the mornings. Some people I know like to do their meditation and prayer time at the end of the day before bed. Find a time that works best for you! Make sure to carve out a time when you can be uninterrupted! It might require a little sacrifice (an earlier alarm with no snooze button?), but it’ll be worth it!

2 - Find a space where you feel most at peace.

There’s a corner in my living room that is quiet in the mornings before the hustle and bustle of the day begins. THAT is my happy place! When I’m on vacation, I sneak out to the balcony as the sun is coming up. Finding a space where you can feel peaceful before even beginning your practice is super important. Make sure you’re comfortable so there aren’t any avoidable annoyances that can interrupt your time.

3 - Use an app to help keep you focused.

I’ve been using the Abide Prayer and Meditation App and it’s been a game changer for my prayer time. Sometimes when life is swirling, I can have a hard time focusing my prayer and meditation time. One thing I love about #Abide is their guided prayers and meditations!

They have so many different focus areas like sleep, battling anxiety, and thankfulness. There are even meditations to help process & release anger, getting to a place of forgiveness, and even tackling addiction.

4 - Give yourself a reward.

I know this sounds a little off, but hear me out. Set an intention for your daily meditation and prayer time and celebrate when you complete it! It can be something as simple enjoying your morning tea or coffee afterwards. Take the time to enjoy it as a reward for your dedication to the practice. And c’mon, you know you wouldn’t hate the extra bit of quiet while you enjoy your morning cup of coffee! :)

5 - Dedicate 30 days to make the practice a habit!

After 30 days, anything you do can become a habit! Commit to spending the next 30 days with a dedicated mediation time.

I want to help each of you add this app to your tools for finding peace and #renewyou! When you join Abide, get your first 7 days of Abide Premium for free! Check out this link to join now and start on a journey of faith-based meditation practice!
